Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer II to join the Data Center Power and Control Team in New London, CT and Conover, NC. The Mechanical Engineer II will be responsible for the design of new product, opto-mechanical components, and fiber assemblies, including product test validation. Working individually or as part of a design team to develop, evaluate and validate product designs and specifications. Also conducts design reviews, validates and approves documentation packages, preproduction builds and production transfer.

 

Provides mentor guidance and support to engineering team members across disciplines.

Legrand is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to design, develop, test, and validate new products, opto-mechanical components, and fiber optic assemblies for its Data Center Power and Control team. This role leads mechanical design and product development efforts, utilizing SolidWorks and engineering analysis tools to create innovative, cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities include project coordination, prototype validation, design reviews, documentation management, product improvements, and production transfer. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, supports laboratory testing, maintains fiber assembly production cells, develops custom cable assembly drawings and technical data sheets, and provides technical mentorship to engineering colleagues.
