Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the OCL Architectural Lighting Team in St. Louis, MO. The Mechanical Engineer will develop high quality market differentiated luminaire designs. This individual will be responsible for new product development from concept through production and must be able to design highly configurable product families that are uncompromising in quality and performance yet cost effective and simple to assemble, install, and maintain.

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing innovative, high-quality luminaire designs that differentiate products in the marketplace. This role leads new product development from concept through production, creating configurable product families that deliver superior performance, quality, and cost-effective manufacturability. Key responsibilities include Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives focused on cost reduction, increased production capacity, and resolution of non-conforming material (NCM) issues. The engineer drives product enhancements to meet evolving customer needs and emerging technologies while collaborating with sales and marketing on product update strategies. Using SolidWorks CAD software, this role creates and maintains 3D models, assemblies, drawings, instructions, and performs design validation through testing and analysis. The position also supports modified and custom product development, from design through implementation.
