The impact you’ll make

As a Software Field Service Engineer at Lam, you will be at the forefront of innovation by designing, developing, and troubleshooting, and debugging software programs. Your role is pivotal in developing software tools that support design, infrastructure, and technology platforms. Your expertise will determine hardware compatibility and influence design, ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware.

In this role, you’ll make an impact across Lam’s entire product portfolio of equipment working within our centralized software engineering team, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.

What you’ll do

• Solve the S/W problem or provides preventive maintenance service at the customer site.
• Assist and support S/W installation and set up for the new system
• Support S/W upgrade
• Acting as S/W owner for the assigned equipment including preventive maintenance Etc
• Interacting with customers and proactively respond for the customer need
• Assumes accountability for continued customer satisfaction with service provided within assigned territory, site or function. Coordinates service requirements with customer to minimize down time or interruptions to the system
• Achieve S/W team’s labor usage objectives on the basis of SAP

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electronic Engineering or Software discipline or equivalent
• Acknowledge of company product, H/W architecture and semiconductor Factory Automation technology 
• Strong customer orientation
• Good relationship with customer
• Deep knowledge Unix and Windows NT OS
• Deep knowledge of Factory Automation and communication protocol such as Analog, Digital, RS232, TCP/IP and LON.
• General understanding S/W development procedure
• Understanding C, C++ , VB and OOP and reading its code.
• Basic technique for Semiconductor equipment H/W trouble shooting.
• Understanding for H/W setup procedure Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent in English (written & verbal)
• Full understanding and ability to implement Lam Business processes

Preferred qualifications

• Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with common office software including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment is a plus.
• Communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
• Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
