The Role

The candidate will provide 24 x 7 project support for the client. Provide support of the infrastructure by performing administrative functions of Linux/RedHat (hardware and software) to include vendor supported tools, support of standard tools and maintain servers in accordance to customer agreed upon security settings. Individual must posses an in-depth knowledge of multiple OEM HW and versions of the OEM OS, be able to resolve complex issue, and experience in data center relocations.

There are two halves to this role: First, contributing to current projects where you analyze problems and tech issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems. And second, long-range strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operational execution.

You’ll be involved early to offer solutions, help decide whether something can be done, and identify the technical and timeline risks up front. This means dealing with both client expectations and internal challenges – in other words, there are plenty of opportunities to make a difference, and a lot of people will witness your contributions. In fact, a frequent sign of success for our Infrastructure Specialists is when clients come back to us and ask for the same person by name. That’s the kind of impact you can have!

This is a project-based role where you’ll enjoy deep involvement throughout the lifespan of a project, as well as the chance to work closely with Architects, Technicians, and PMs. Whatever your current level of tech savvy or where you want your career to lead, you’ll find the right opportunities and a buddy to support your growth. Required Technical and Professional Experience

• 8+ years of relevant work experience.

• Deep expertise within Linux/Unix, RedHat, Solaris, Veritas domain areas.
• Enterprise IT Infrastructure experience
• Hands-on experience in systems administration, or systems architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
• Must have experience driving for engineering solutions and working across teams
• Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce conclusions and responses.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
• Strong process improvement experience

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities
• Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures
• Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
 

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $93,360 to $177,360 based on a full-time schedule.  Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience.  For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations: 

California: $102,720 to $213,000 

Colorado: $93,360 to $177,360 

New York City: $112,080 to $213,000 

Washington: $102,720 to $195,120 

Washington DC: $102,720 to $195,120 

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off.  Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
