The Role

• A total of 12+ years of experience managing Backup solutions and resiliency Infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and application owners, to understand business requirements and design effective data protection and management strategies using Commvault on AWS.
• Lead the architecture, implementation, and administration of Commvault solutions for backup, recovery, and data lifecycle management in the AWS Cloud.
• Design, configure, and optimize Commvault components such as MediaAgents, Storage Policies, CommServe, and related modules to ensure data availability, integrity, and retention.
• Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies for various applications, databases, and workloads hosted on AWS, ensuring compliance with established Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).
• Automate workflows and processes using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Commvault infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal system functionality.
• Implement and validate disaster recovery scenarios, performing routine tests and updates to ensure preparedness and compliance with business continuity plans.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure data protection practices align with company security policies and standards.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in Commvault and AWS Cloud to provide innovative solutions that meet evolving business needs.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Proven experience as a Commvault Architect, designing and implementing data protection and management solutions, preferably within AWS environments.
• AWS certification(s), such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer. AWS SysOps Administrator certification at the least is highly desirable.
• Strong expertise in configuring and managing Commvault components including CommServe, MediaAgents, Storage Policies, and related modules.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) for automation and orchestration of tasks.
• In-depth understanding of cloud concepts and services in AWS, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing, ensuring high availability and business continuity.
• Knowledge of best practices for data backup, recovery, and retention.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
• Relevant Commvault certifications (Commvault Certified Architect).

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• Backup architecture experience - 2 + yrs
• Commvault SME experience - min 3 yrs
• TSM skills (preferred)
• AWS administration skills - 2 + yrs
• Managing traditional backup solution on cloud experience - 2+ yrs
