The Role
Kyndryl is seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to support and manage mission-critical banking platforms across cloud and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in Platform Engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, Observability, Container Platforms, and Infrastructure Operations.
This role requires a technically strong engineer capable of providing L2/L3 support, driving operational stability, automating platform management activities, and supporting cloud-native application deployments. The candidate should have practical experience with Azure Cloud, Kubernetes/OpenShift, GitHub, Infrastructure Automation, Unix/Linux and Windows Server administration.
Key Responsibilities
Provide L2/L3 technical support for mission-critical banking applications and platforms.
Lead investigation and resolution of production incidents, service outages, and performance issues.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive and corrective actions.
Support platform engineering activities across cloud and hybrid environments.
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Support Terraform-based infrastructure deployments and operational changes.
Manage and support container platforms including Kubernetes, OpenShift, and AKS.
Monitor platform health, availability, performance, and capacity using enterprise observability tools.
Automate operational tasks using scripting and DevOps practices.
Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, Security, and Application Support teams.
Support release, deployment, patching, and platform upgrade activities.
Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
Participate in on-call support and major incident management processes.

Required Technical and Professional Experience
- 8+ years of infrastructure/platform operations experience.
- Strong experience in DevOps and CI/CD support.
- Experience supporting Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms.
- Experience working with observability and monitoring tools.
- Hands-on experience administering Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments.
- Exposure to Azure Cloud operations and Terraform deployments.
- Experienced in enterprise platform operations, production support, incident, problem and change management, root cause analysis, release and deployment support, and operational automation to ensure reliable and efficient platform performance.
- Experienced DevOps Engineer with expertise in Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Git, Jenkins, and YAML pipelines, responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting scalable CI/CD solutions to automate software delivery and improve deployment efficiency.
- Hands-on experience in building, orchestrating, and maintaining scalable container platforms leveraging Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, Docker, and Helm.
- Hands-on experience in observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, ELK Stack, Splunk, and Log Analytics to proactively monitor system performance, analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure application reliability and availability.
- Azure Cloud Engineer: Experienced in managing and supporting Azure cloud infrastructure, including Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, Key Vault, Monitor, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) to ensure secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments.
- Operating Systems Administrator: Experienced in administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server environments, ensuring system stability, security, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Scripting & Automation Engineer: Proficient in developing and automating operational tasks using Shell/Bash scripting, PowerShell, and Python (preferred) to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and reduce manual effort.
- Preferred experience supporting banking or BFSI customers as an Operations engineer
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Red Hat OpenShift Certification, and ITIL Foundation, demonstrating expertise in cloud administration, DevOps practices, container platforms, and IT service management
