About the role:

• Insomnia is a popular API development platform that includes an API client, API designer, API testing and more, that millions of developers around the world use to build digital products across both Top Global 2000 organizations, and individual developers at smaller organizations.

• As a Senior Golang Engineer, you will be responsible for developing new features and tools for Insomnia, a powerful open-source API client used by millions of developers worldwide. You will also build and maintain APIs in Golang that support complex application features. Additionally, you will serve as the primary point of contact for backend system changes and oversee system deployments in GCP.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing high-quality code within a React.js presentation layer.

• Designing and implementing APIs to support innovative Insomnia features.

• Developing Golang APIs to enable Insomnia’s cloud functionalities.

• Rapid development of APIs to extend the features of Insomnia Cloud.

• Creating automated tests to validate code behavior and prevent regressions.

• Collaborating as a key member of a small, globally distributed agile software development team to deliver features end-to-end.

• Performing any other duties as assigned by management.

What you’ll bring

• 6+ years of professional experience in TypeScript and Golang development.

• Demonstrated experience building Electron applications.

• Proven ability to collaborate within an agile and distributed team.

• Practical application of relational databases and SQL.

• Expertise in RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

• Strong track record of producing well-structured and thoroughly tested code.

• Highly proficient in Git and GitHub workflows.

• Superior verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience contributing to product documentation with technical writing teams.

Bonus Points:

• Possesses experience in security engineering.

• Demonstrates expertise in C/C++
