About the role:

A Senior Software Engineer on the Insomnia Team at Kong is responsible for building out APIs in Golang that power complex features in the application. You will be a point person for all backend systems changes and maintaining our system deployments inside of GCP.  Insomnia is an enterprise product with an open-source core, that is being offered to customers via both our desktop application and cloud experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building out Golang APIs that power Insomnia’s cloud features.
  • Fast writing of APIs to expand features of Insomnia Cloud
  • Writing automated tests to ensure behavior of code and avoid regressions.
  • Collaborating closely with a small, globally-distributed team.
  • Any additional tasks required by your manager.

What you’ll bring

  • Working experience in an agile, distributed, team environment. 
  • Competency and history of backend development in Golang.
  • Working experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Strong experience with building out GraphQL or REST APIs.
  • Curiosity for working remotely as part of a globally distributed team.
