As our System Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the complete technical solutions for KTO projects meet the agreed criteria (cost, reliability, safety, manufacturability, installability, maintainability). The roles of Senior CDE/SCE and CDE/SCE differ mainly with regard to scope of responsibility.

JOB DUTIES:

Create and maintain Project specification & plan:

  • Create technical requirement specification for technical solution for R&D project

  • Create project plan -schedule, resource, costs-   (not for SCE)

  • SCE specific:

    • ensure the consistency of solution in relation to system level interfaces/interaction.

    • identify system interfaces and interaction in project activities as well as in PCM, for submitted CR's.(together with Project Manager/CR owner/CDE).

    • verify and validate technical solution/proposals from component development projects regarding system functionality and act as stakeholder for technical solutions.

Create and select proposals of new technical solutions:

  • Generate new ideas and create new solution proposals

  • Select best proposals for selection / decision making

  • Develop the technical solutions for given specs ensuring a) functionality, b) quality and reliability c) cost d) manufacturability e) interfaces to other technologies, f) compliance with applicable technical codes and standards

  • Create design/engineering documentation of a complete component or product [SO, PG, DL, OF]

Manage Engineering team for Execution of technical plan (not for SCE)

  • Manage team performance

  • Control & Steer the design work

  • Select and monitor performance of external resources (from approved list)

  • Write Task assignments

  • Follow-up of task execution & controlling work quality

  • Select sub-contractor

  • Communicate to technical stakeholders

Note. In case of conflict in technical solution interfaces/interaction among different components the SCE is responsible and has authority to select the technical solution.

Develop Capabilities

  • Develop capability

  • Gather and share know-how of technology (e.g. PCM, C-process engineering)

  • Provide practical rules for efficient use of tools

  • Provide support for engineers

  • Create performance improvement ideas

  • Take development actions

  • Create proposals for design guidelines

  • Manage component library (not for SCE)

Authority to decide

  • Selection of technical proposal for R&D project

  • Selection of design methods

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • M.Sc. or equivalent.

  • Min 5 years of design work experience in the area of specific category/platform.

  • Evidence of several technology development projects e.g. component projects/platform management.

  • Excellent skills in defining product specifications and project plans.

  • Deep technical knowledge about the systems

The hiring range for this role is $122k - $168k. The compensation package offered will depend on the candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.

Variable Compensation 

KONE 60/40 Annual Bonus plan at 15% Target Incentive based on achievement of company goals and individual goals.

Echo Jobs has been exceptional in my job hunt where it provides one platform to job hunt and I don't have to open 10 websites just to look for a job. It has also helped me focus much on the job skill and the location filtering out the onsite jobs and remote ones. The only feature that I would request is to display fully remote jobs that are not restricted to a country since the one available shows ie, Remote, US yet. But if it could show remote only, that would be helpful not only to me but to other people applying for full remote and not tied to only US candidates
