Commercial & Operations Solutions unit within KONE IT is designing, developing, maintaining and supporting solutions across KONE’s digital and digitally enabled customer journey – marketing, sales, field service and project delivery and customer service. Our purpose is to enable superior customer experience and high-rising sales by transforming how KONE interacts with customers. Modernization Sales and Engineering solutions play a critical role in the tendering & ordering flow,  streamlining the sales process with the help of  AI, CPQ, and engineering workflows.

Are you already mastering or having a desire to become the expert of this complex domain?

As a Solution Architect at KONE, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical design of our Modernization sales and engineering solutions, encompassing various applications and solutions.

Your responsibilities include aligning the design with long-term business goals, KONE IT strategies, and solution strategies. Working collaboratively with Enterprise Architects, you will contribute to crafting the vision for an integrated solution landscape, spanning multiple teams and addressing significant technical complexities within the enterprise architecture.

Your initial focus will be on evaluating the current state of the solution architecture, analyzing key integrations, and subsequently designing optimizations to enhance the capabilities of our technology stack. Embracing modern architectural best practices such as APIs, microservices, and layered architecture, you will drive innovation and efficiency in our technical approach.

This exciting opportunity is based in Espoo, Finland, where you will report to the Product Manager, Modernization and Engineering Solutions, within the Commercial & Operations Solution Team at KONE IT.

Your responsibilities and key activities

• Take ownership of the Modernization sales and engineering solution architecture, leading the definition and communication of a sustainable and future-proof architectural framework for the domain. This includes AI, CPQ and workflows solutions. 
• Assist in defining the CPQ platform architecture framework, ensuring alignment with other business line tendering and ordering solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Technical Design Leads to support the business in finding solutions for immediate business needs and technical challenges.
• Lead, guide, and validate technology decisions in collaboration with external partners, staying abreast of current and emerging technologies, and proposing changes as necessary.
• Participate actively in continuous improvement efforts, offering guidance and expertise to development teams.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for architectural topics, engaging with stakeholders and team members to address any concerns or queries.

Requirements for the role

• A business mindset with the ability to comprehend the commercial drivers of stakeholders, utilizing architecture to support business growth, and effectively communicating complex topics at a comprehensible level.
• Strong understanding of, and interest in technologies that enable our business to perform at their best, like AI, workflow platforms, automation and CPQ.
• Solid experience in solutions integration, encompassing data, process, and application architecture.
• Proficient understanding of the digital landscape to identify risks and opportunities arising from emerging and disruptive technologies.
• Proven experience working in an international environment with the ability to excel in virtual organizations.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English, including the ability to work independently and contribute effectively to virtual teams in a multicultural setting.
• Preferred experience in CPQ or Sales Configuration solutions (e.g., CAMOS), or related platforms such as Salesforce CRM, Product Data Management (PDM), or SAP (sales or ordering modules)
• Highly motivated team player with a service-oriented mindset, enjoying consulting and co-creating solutions.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
• Open-minded with a sense of humor, contributing to a positive and dynamic work environment.
