Senior GenAI Engineer

The GenAI Lighthouse team within KTI consists of innovators and problem solvers committed to empowering KONE with the capabilities of GenAI.

We work together on daily basis in KTI among IT, R&D and Innovations team.We collaborate closely with KONE’s business teams to identify and address their needs, utilizing GenAI to develop solutions that are both pioneering and practical. Our objective is to drive innovation and efficiency, thereby enabling KONE to maintain its leadership position in the industry.

We are looking for

Senior GenAI Engineer

to join the KONE GenAI Light House Team, a pioneering group dedicated to leading the way with GenAI at KONE.

You‘ll help develop cutting-edge tech stacks, drive GenAI initiatives, and shape an agile operating model for innovative projects. Your role will transform ideas into tangible proofs of concept, setting new industry standards and enhancing customer experiences with GenAI at KONE. This role is critical in advising on the optimal use of GenAI technologies across all KONE use cases, fostering an environment of innovation and technological advancement. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to development, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a deep understanding of machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and cloud platforms.

The position is based in Espoo, Finland and you will report to Lulu Zhang, Head of Technology and Services, KONE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of PoCs and have a hands-on role in the creation and implementation of innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with architects to define, evolve, and implement the KONE tech stack, integrating advanced GenAI, machine learning, and cloud technologies.
• Foster an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset within the team, encouraging creative thinking and the exploration of new ideas.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in GenAI to keep KONE at the forefront of innovation.
• Provide expert advice on the application of GenAI technologies within KONE, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enhancement of customer experiences.

Qualifications: 

• PhD/MSc or equivalent knowledge in data science, computer science, or related quantitative fields demonstrating a robust foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in GenAI, machine learning, and software development, with a track record of hands-on development and successful scaling of AI/ML applications in real-world scenarios.
• Expertise in cloud technologies and platforms, coupled with an understanding of natural language processing and proficiency with large language models, to drive innovation.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Python, backed by experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), along with familiarity in DevOps, MLOps, or LLMOps, to enhance operational efficiency and agility.
• Experience in backlog management and experience with using JIRA and confluence is a plus
• An entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for innovation and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
• Proven ability to work in virtual teams, excelling in emotional intelligence to foster inspiration, collaboration, and a psychologically safe workspace
• Excellent communication skills in English, capable of efficiently articulating complex technical concepts to a broad audience.
