We are looking for a Senior Engineer/Engineer Specialist/ Specialist ITEC KOne Chennai. Candidate must be willing to work to maximize collaboration with key stakeholders and responsible for specific activities related to the Supply line Engineering Activities.

A Supply Line Senior Engineer/Engineering Specialist/Engineering Coordinator provides engineering services in Supply Units for KONE Sales & Customer needs as well for component production needs. These engineering services are focused on customized solutions to meet customer’s needs. He/she takes ownership of engineering tasks in terms of tender/order related engineering. He/she participates in or leads development tasks of order engineering processes and they participates in both engineering tool development and KONE Product Development projects as a service provider, typically in testing. He/she answers customer specific technical questions and supports the SL Project Engineer/Project Manager with technical issues.

Job Title – Senior Layout Engineer/Engineer Specialist for Supply Line(from Elevator/Escalator)

What will you be doing?

  • Analyses contracts and specifications for equipment and selects the right products for the required solution.
  • Designs drawings and/or material lists for the solution
  • Takes safety, maintenance and manufacturability aspects into account and designs environmentally sustainable solutions when possible.
  • Cost understanding of solutions and components
  • Updates order progress to other stakeholders on a timely basis.
  • As a member of an engineering team, shares his/her knowledge and skills with colleagues and participates actively in meetings and workshops.
  • Works independently on the assigned tasks and delivers the required results on time.
  • Applies a customer service mind set.
  • Complies and performs according to the Service Level Agreement between SL/FL

Engineering Coordinator

  • Performs independent engineering according to instructions or light modifications. The requested solutions are designs according to the contract and specification that the Front Line (FL) has agreed with customers.
  • Identifies and selects the components required for the solution and designs the individual components to meet customer specific requirements.
  • May act as a local trainer and act as a meeting coordinator, typically in the local responsibility area.

Engineering specialist

As above plus

  • Engineers demanding solutions and new configurations without instructions, in a global engineering network. The requested solutions are designs according to the contract and specification that the Front Line (FL) has agreed with customers.
  • Identifies and selects the components required for the solution and designs the individual components to meet customer specific requirements.
  • Acts as a result provider typically in CR development processes.
  • Participates in the global development of engineering.
  • Acts as a global trainer.
  • Develops engineering & related functions/processes/tools.
  • May take a role to run routine leading activities in own area/team.

Senior Engineer

As above plus:

  • Manage and create highly demanding solutions in global network. The requested solutions are designs according to the contract and specification that the Front Line (FL) has agreed with customers.
  • Identifies and selects the components required for the solution and designs the individual components to meet customer specific requirements.
  • Supports R&D as a result provider in CR/PD projects.
  • May lead some global development projects of engineering.
  • If required is capable of making management decisions in some area(s).
  • May be required to act as a substitute leader in own area/team.
  • Engineering performance and quality
  • Design of cost competitive solutions covering customer requirements
  • Quality feedback for engineered orders
  • Timeliness and accuracy of engineering accuracy

Are you the one?

  • Required 2+ years of experience in Elevator /Escalator Industry
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering education
  • Skills and knowledge about CAD engineering systems
  • Basic office and ERP usage skills
  • Good written and spoken English, other languages are benefit.
  • Good technical understanding of designs and solutions that meet customer expectations.
  • Understands and has knowledge of norms and requirements that are applicable for each project.
  • Good designing skills and utilizes latest design/drawing tools and processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of KONE equipment offering, technical design, structure and details and of the technical strengths and limitations of products
