Job Title - Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager – Import & Export (Material Management)

Are you the one?

• Minimum 4 to 8 years of rich experience from Import / Export background
• Candidate with any relevant bachelor’s degree

What will you be doing?

• Shipment tracking, co-ordination with CHA and Customs for preparing Import documents for clearing goods.
• Controlling the import/export process and ensuring compliance with government laws and regulations.
• Developing and implementing systems and policies to administer the necessary documentation for importing and exporting goods.
• Possessing in-depth knowledge of customs rules and regulations for global shipping.
• Resolving complex issues that arise and expediting solutions with clients, customs officials, and shippers.
• Overseeing the preparation and processing of import and export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, or procedures.
• Coordinating import/export shipment activities, including customs clearance and documentation
• Negotiate with shippers, agents, and vendors to secure the best rates and ensure efficient logistics pathways for both inbound and outbound shipments.
• Implement and manage compliance with international trade laws and regulations, including obtaining necessary licenses and permits.
• Coordinate with customs brokers for the clearing of goods through customs, ensuring accurate classification and valuation of shipments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with international partners, including suppliers and customers, to ensure smooth operations and resolve any shipment or delivery issues.
• Analyze market trends and adapt strategies to optimize trade routes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency in the supply chain.
• Train and supervise team members on import-export procedures, software, and compliance requirements to ensure departmental efficiency and accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or irregularities in shipment documents, customs entries, or freight bills to ensure compliance and prevent delays.
• Implement and monitor compliance with import and export requirements in order to avoid customs claims, supply chain interruption, increased overall costs.
• Import documents archiving.
• Co-ordinate with Marine Insurance Companies for settlement of claims.
• Co-ordination with transporter & Shipper for timely clearing & Distribution.
• Air & sea importing all bills checking the pass out concern depts. Import documents checking then hand over to CHA.
• Port visit, co-ordination with CHA for quickly clearance.
• Liaison with Customs, RCMC, DGFT process and getting and closing various license like Advance License, EPCG
• Filing and getting status house benefits and Export star rating
• SVB and AEO upgradation
