Senior DevOps Platform Engineer

R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem.

We are looking for a

Senior DevOps Platform Engineer

to join our team and manage our platform offerings that support KONE digital products. Become part of a dynamic team dedicated to creating cutting-edge software delivery platforms, complete with CI/CD capabilities and advanced tooling.

We offer flexible working time, hybrid working model and we also support commuting to work. The primary location of this role is Espoo, Finland, however it is possible to work also in our Hyvinkää R&D, if that’s more convenient for you.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to developer experience enhancement and reducing cognitive load on developers, by building state of the art software delivery platforms with CI/CD and tooling around it   

• Hands-on contribution in critical aspects of delivery platform engineering through infrastructure-as-code (terraform/ cdk ) & policy-as-code  

• Build scalable CI/CD infrastructure (mainly Gitlab/Github) with proactive monitoring of the pipelines and the delivery platform infrastructure  

• Contribute hands-on to the transformation, development and establishment of DevOps engineering practices in the team  

• Collaborate closely with units like Cybersecurity, Architecture, Cloud Operations Center and agile execution teams to build solutions addressing the common shared goals of the cloud platform  

• Good to have hands-on knowledge on building & managing our cloud platform in AWS to support our digital products  

• Good to have hands-on contribution in critical aspects of cloud platform engineering like platform level cross region backup & restore, security, infrastructure as code, monitoring infrastructure etc., Contribute to platform scalability and operational architecture

In order to be successful in this role

• At least 7 years of experience in building software delivery platforms for complex projects/solutions  

• Excellent scripting skills (e.g. Python, bash , and other languages) for automation and task optimization

• Experience with version control systems (Git), continuous integration tools, and artifact repositories (Artifactory)  

• Git based SCM tools with best software development practices well versed in various branching, versioning & tagging strategies  

• Platform engineering aspects like platform scalability, resilience, disaster recovery, security etc.  

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills  

• Preferred Prior experience in building solutions using and integrating several key native services in cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
