Description

We Breathe Life Into Data

At Komodo Health, our mission is to reduce the global burden of disease. And we believe that smarter use of data is essential to this mission. That’s why we built the Healthcare Map — the industry’s largest, most complete, precise view of the U.S. healthcare system — by combining de-identified, real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and decades of clinical experience. The Healthcare Map serves as our foundation for a powerful suite of software applications, helping us answer healthcare’s most complex questions for our partners. Across the healthcare ecosystem, we’re helping our clients unlock critical insights to track detailed patient behaviors and treatment patterns, identify gaps in care, address unmet patient needs, and reduce the global burden of disease.

As we pursue these goals, it remains essential to us that we stay grounded in our values: be awesome, seek growth, deliver “wow,” and enjoy the ride. At Komodo, you will be joining a team of ambitious, supportive Dragons with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion to deliver on our mission to reduce the burden of disease — and enjoy the journey along the way.

The Opportunity at Komodo Health

At Komodo Health, the QA team is crucial in ensuring the reliability, performance, and usability of the Komodo suite of products through automation. The team focuses on automating APIs, user interfaces, and automated “Data” Quality validations. The engineers are responsible for coming up with a comprehensive test automation strategy

As a Senior Software Engineer in Automation Engineering with platform organization, you will take charge of Data Quality Automation, focusing on the UCC (Universal Cohort Creator) Service. UCC is at the center of Komodo’s Platform that provides optimized cohorts to every Komodo Application and Product. Your role extends beyond conventional automation; you will have the opportunity to create new standards in data quality through advanced automation techniques. This includes refining existing processes and introducing innovative practices to deliver high-quality data assets across Komodo's products. Your responsibilities will encompass validating our API layer comprehensively, covering aspects like data integrity, performance metrics, and security practices.

Data quality is essential to business success at Komodo. While your expertise will be central to this effort, we emphasize the collective input of product managers, developers, and clinical specialists in maintaining and enhancing data integrity. You will be part of a dynamic engineering team dedicated to setting new benchmarks in data quality and contributing significantly to Komodo’s ongoing success.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have accomplished…

  • Be familiar with the healthcare domain, healthcare datasets, and our platform’s data services
  • Developed a data quality validation framework to validate data flow through different transformations to the platform/application
  • Lead the automation aligning well with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices
  • Performed API automation and performance automation using modern frameworks
  • Driven process improvements to elevate overall data quality standards
  • Analyzed, debugged, and documented issues and observations, collaborating with the stakeholders to do root cause analysis and implement effective resolutions
  • Participated in cross-functional projects and initiatives that involve data quality, such as migrations, system upgrades, or new feature launches
  • Regularly communicated with stakeholders, including product managers, business analysts, and end-users, to understand requirements, gather feedback, and align data quality efforts with business goals

You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…

  • Create detailed test automation strategies
  • Create new frameworks and learn to manage existing ones
  • Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and full stack engineers to define and implement data validation rules
  • Build CI/CD pipelines and oversee execution
  • Providing actionable reports and insights
  • Be able to troubleshoot and debug problems in various environments
  • Be able to perform gap analysis between different healthcare data set versions

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with automating data validation with different schemas as input sources.
  • Ability to conduct automated API testing using tools like Swagger, and Postman and libraries like REST Assured, and Requests.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with Relational Databases
  • Proficiency in implementing test automation for complex web and cloud products

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)...

  • Experience with a load-testing modern framework such as K6, Locust, or JMeter
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, in a fast-paced and demanding agile environment

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We prioritize job seekers as our customers, unlike bigger job sites, by charging a small fee to provide them with curated access to the best companies and up-to-date jobs. This focus allows us to deliver a more personalized and effective job search experience.
  • Salaries for the engineering jobs on our site range from $100K-$200K. On average, senior engineer positions on our EchoJobs are about $160K.
  • The EchoJobs positions have been sourced and vetted from the top companies to work for in the US as a software engineer, including LinkedIn and other reputable job sites. We also have syndicated jobs from companies that have just raised funding, as well as those that have great unique products and culture. From all of these sources, our founder, Morgan, has also resourced the company's authenticity in terms of their website, public appearance, and more.
  • Yes, our users asked us for just this, so now our search filters allow you to search for your top jobs via location, as well as by onsite, remote, or both. Approximately 30% of our jobs are remote, so you’ve got the best options for you!
  • We have not yet implemented this option, but are considering doing so in the future. For the moment, you would need to cancel your subscription, and resubscribe when you wanted to come back.
  • We add new jobs to EchoJobs every day! We scan our sources for the newest jobs, verify them, and post them to EchoJobs within minutes. We add about 2,000-3,000 new jobs for you each day!
  • From starting your job search to getting hired, the entire job search process can take us software engineers anywhere between 3-6 months. However, at EchoJobs, we’re striving to shorten this duration by finding the best, newest jobs for you, so you can do less job searching, and more applying.
  • We’d recommend checking EchoJobs daily, as we add new jobs to the site each day. Additionally, if you got a chance to read our previous email on “what makes EchoJobs different from any other job search tools,” we also recommended that you set a job alert based on your job filters, so if you get emails on those new jobs, you could be checking more than once per day.
  • If you decide to continue with us after the 1-month trial, we definitely recommend this, as we all know it usually takes 3-6 months to find a quality job as a software engineer these days. So to best support you, we just adjusted our membership options at EchoJobs to monthly, 3 months, or 12 months (this option is more for passive job seekers looking a little bit for the future if they want to come back to work or make a job switch potentially. This lets you see what’s out there in case an even better fit job becomes available.)
  • EchoJobs is truly the only job site of its kind. We want to be THE spot for you to find the best job for you, and haven’t encountered any other company doing this. Other job sites are in niches besides software engineering or focus on a small portion of engineering jobs (like a specific coding language). In the words of Morgan, our founder, “I think what makes EchoJobs different is the amount of jobs, frequency that we add new jobs (we add 2,000-3,000 new jobs daily!), and the powerful search engines to find exactly the job you want more easily and efficiently. We can provide you with the most jobs that are vetted by us, we’ll continually find more new jobs for you, and we make it easier for you to apply and get hired.
