Base Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour based on pursuit of a Master’s

Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities

Enjoy developing skills for end-to-end software solutions, acquire knowledge of new technologies, and working with highly collaborative teams? A software engineering/Diagnostics data internship here will collaborate with senior SW engineers to understand the data flow among different SW components and design the diagnostic logging to facilitate the troubleshooting bugs in different SW components. In this role you will:

• Assist in crafting interactive dashboards and visualization to track and analyze system performance.
• Collaborate with experts and contribute to root cause analysis to understand and identify patterns for insightful conclusion.
• Experiment with data visualization tools and techniques to present data effectively.
• Learn and understand the existing SW code base, identify the deficiency in the existing logging mechanism, develop Python tools for parsing and extraction of the diagnostic information for visualization.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in MSc or PhD programs in one of, the following fields: computer science or data science.
• Hands-on experience with the following programming languages: Python, C/C++; Understanding concepts in multi-process, multi-thread programming.
• Knowledge in software communication protocols and Application Programming Interface (API).
• Excellent attention to detail, where you can demonstrate an ability to contribute to our software project.
• Possess high curiosity, be a fast learner, and have the strive to turn concept to software prototype to verify the idea.
• Experience on collaborating with team members to implement diagnosis solution.
• Knowledge about databases, including but not limited to database management, SQL.
