Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and inclusive IT Leader to work with Engineering groups and diverse IT Global team providing cutting edge solutions for Engineering and IT needs. IT Leader position will play a critical role in overseeing the Engineers and IT needs, collaborating with local business managers to understand their IT requirements, and effectively communicating those needs to our global IT teams. Additionally, this individual will serve as the site's representative during major outages and issues, ensuring timely resolution and efficient communication with all stakeholders. Moreover, the IT Leader is expected to have experience with relationship management and be proficient in Architecting solutions for On-prem and Cloud infrastructure solutions, providing consultation to Engineers for IT related requirements. Additionally, this role will involve supporting global projects that impact the local site, requiring clear communication with local management on project timelines, achievements, and impact.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Deep Understanding of IT Infrastructures:
Demonstrate a wide-ranging ability to comprehend complex IT infrastructures, including local and global networks, hardware, Virtual Environment, software systems, and cloud-based solutions. Analyze how the local site's IT setup fits into the broader global environment, identifying areas for optimization and seamless integration.
This individual will manage projects as well as assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle.
Relationship Management
- Position requires communicating with different functional groups like Engineering, IT and Vendors. Wear the hat of Relationship Manager
- Strategize with IT Team on solution feasibility and conceptual design
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams from various constituencies.
- Identify innovative technologies and development tools as the need arises.
- Responsible for the technical content (architecture and design), integrity and quality of solution.
- Coordinate and collaborate with impacted constituencies.
Technical Expertise
- Experience on Architecting solutions for large Global enterprise.
- Knowledge on Virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V and Nutanix knowledge of Software development cycle (DevOps)
- Cloud technologies and Micro services
- Excellent troubleshooting knowledge on computer systems (Windows and Linux Environment)
Hands on Experience
- Linux - Suse Linux, Redhat Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu Linux
- HPC cluster management, Virtual machines.
- Windows - Windows server 2012/2016/2019 etc
Working Knowledge
- Virtualization technologies such as VMware, Nutanix, KVM, Xen etc.
- Cloud – IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Orchestration, Containerization, Private and Public Cloud - AWS and Azure
- Automation (Terraform), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Self-Service (such as Morpheus), Container Registry, Jfrog etc.
- Setup infrastructure used in jfrog, GIT, GitHub etc.
- Writing Ansible & Python scripts for deployment automation.
- IT application architecture, design methodologies across multiple platforms.
- AD, DFS, NFS, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP Networking, VPN etc.
- Automating the entire build and release process using Jenkins, Chef and Ansible as part of CI/CD pipeline is a plus
- Project Management, core Planning, Scheduling, Purchasing and Logistics is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years
