Job Title: Lead Commissioning Engineer - E&I
KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi.
Job Purpose
Lead and manage all pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and handover activities for offshore oil & gas facilities under the ADNOC Offshore LTDP Project. Ensure safe, efficient, and timely commissioning of process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, telecom, and control systems in compliance with ADNOC standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning Management
- Develop and implement overall commissioning strategy and execution plans.
- Establish systemization and subsystem boundaries for commissioning.
- Lead commissioning readiness reviews and certification processes.
- Prepare commissioning schedules aligned with project milestones.
- Coordinate offshore commissioning activities with construction, engineering, operations, and vendors.
- Manage Mechanical Completion (MC), Ready for Commissioning (RFC), Ready for Start-Up (RFSU), and handover activities.
Technical Leadership
- Lead commissioning of:
- Process systems
- Utility systems
- Electrical power distribution systems
- HV/LV switchgear
- DCS, ESD, F&G systems
- Instrumentation and control systems
- Telecom systems
- Review commissioning procedures, method statements, test packs, and check sheets.
- Coordinate integrated system testing and performance verification.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis during commissioning and start-up.
Offshore Execution
- Supervise offshore commissioning teams and specialist vendors.
- Interface with ADNOC Offshore Operations, EPC contractors, OEMs, and subcontractors.
- Ensure safe energization and commissioning of offshore facilities.
- Manage punch list closure and commissioning constraints.
- Monitor progress and prepare commissioning status reports.
HSE & Quality
- Ensure full compliance with ADNOC HSE policies and PTW requirements.
- Lead commissioning risk assessments, SIMOPS reviews, and toolbox talks.
- Verify all commissioning activities comply with project specifications and international standards.
- Promote Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture throughout project execution.
Documentation & Handover
- Review and approve commissioning dossiers.
- Ensure completion of test records and turnover documentation.
- Support final handover to Operations and Asset Owner.
- Participate in performance guarantee and reliability test runs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
- Commissioning Management certification is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 18+ years of oil & gas experience.
- Minimum 10+ years in commissioning leadership roles.
- Experience in brownfield modifications, platform upgrades, and live plant tie-ins.
- Previous ADNOC Offshore project experience preferred.
