Job Title:                                 Senior Load and Performance Engineer

Reports To:                             Manager, QA Automation

 

Summary

 

Kaseya is looking for a highly proficient, hands-on load and performance test engineer.  This role will help define and drive our load and performance test efforts, ensuring our platform runs smoothly. You will focus efforts on ensuring our products perform under various load conditions.  You will help build load test frameworks, validate software releases, and ensure that end users have a flawless experience. You will take part in all aspects of load and performance testing on large scale and complex cross-organizational projects and programs.  You will work closely with development teams, to help discover and debug issues. 

 

Main Objectives and Activities

 

  • Contribute to the effort in designing the load and performance test framework.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of load and performance testing standards, tools, techniques, and processes.
  • Assist in the development of load and performance test strategies and complete load and performance testing assignments.
  • Write load and performance tests following industry best practice and coding standards.
  • Work with developers and architects to understand application architecture.
  • Conduct defect triage meetings, approve fixes to performance test environment, and track defects to closure. Conduct and communicate the test results to the project stakeholders.
  • Identify areas of performance bottlenecks, report observations to stakeholders, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Review the results captured from application performance monitoring tools, support the identification of performance issues, and make recommendations to stakeholders.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or significant real-world business experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience with a focus on load and performance testing and automated testing.
  • Experience using continuous integration tools.
  • Technical awareness and a solid understanding of software architectures.
  • Ability to understand NFRs and liaise closely with Architects and Product Owners.
  • Experience working in continuous integration environment and configuring tools.
  • Experience testing within Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Expertise in effective defect management and triage strategies.
  • Proficient in using load and performance test tools like Visual Studio, Apache Jmeter, K6, MSVS, Gatling, Blazemeter, Neoload, Micro Focus Silk Performer and Micro Focus Load/Storm Runner, and Smartbear Load UI.
  • Experience developing API, Service level, and UI tests with frameworks such as Visual Studio, PlayWright, Postman, Selenium, ReadyAPI, Quick Test Professional, UFT, and Jmeter.
  • Experience with application monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Kibana or New Relic.
  • Understands load and performance frameworks, how they are configured, how to troubleshoot them when things go wrong.
  • Experience with Microsoft development environments – Visual Studio & Azure.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding. Fluency in English is essential.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and leverage creative problem-solving techniques.
