About the role
In this position, you will have an opportunity to make major contributions to our next-generation transportation and logistics software for the marine industry. You will work together with colleagues to define system requirements and build state-of-the-art software. You will be working in a team of C++ and Java engineers with extensive expertise in the domain. We are looking for an engineer who has solid Java and C++ application and architecture experience who is a quick learner and excited to work in container terminal domain with excellent communication skills and be able to maintain ownership of large engineering projects through their lifecycle: architecture/design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and support. This position has unique opportunities for growth in both the functional and technical directions.
Responsibilities
- Join an Agile team and work with cross functional teams involving Product Management, QA, Documentation, Support and Professional Service
- Work on Bugs and new product features for our global customers
- Take end-to-end ownership of your part of the functionality
- Create secure, scalable, and highly available distributed applications.
- Participate in code, feature reviews, and provide feedback.
- Keep up to date on new technologies and share your knowledge
- Participate in design reviews and requirements development to ensure the use of specific design approaches and parameters.
- Collaborate with your peers to help achieve the company goals of quality, innovation and customer success.
- Be a key member of the team and ensure the development process is followed and collaborate with current team members in technical activities.
- Mentor and coach other team members.
Qualifications
- BE/BTech/MCA/MSC IT with 5 - 9 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of and experience with object-oriented methodologies, enterprise application architectures, and design pattern
- Expert Knowledge of application development using Java and JEE stack (e.g. JDBC, JMX JMS)
- Experience in creating RESTful applications using Spring Boot and spring frame work
- Highly experienced with software development processes, particularly software design and unit/integration testing using JUnit.
- Good understanding of application software, secure coding, scalability, performance, and reliability aspects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment. Experience with agile development approaches is a plus
- A highly motivated individual, who is ready to accept challenges, continually innovate and learn, and help others
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Experience with relational database management systems.
- Experience with messaging technologies like Kafka, and JMS is a plus
- Having Good knowledge and experience in C++ is an added advantage
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax and various framework is a plus
- Knowledge in Kafka or streaming data and multi-threading is good to have
- App Server experience – Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss is good to have
