Senior BI Developer

About the Role 

We're seeking a forward-thinking individual to join our IT Enterprise Business Application team as a. This team member will ensure adherence to IT standards, handle user and security management, gather requirements, provide training, debug issues, and deliver high-quality solutions. This position as a Senior BI Developer who will be the primary point of contact for all reporting related activities and responsible for the end-to-end development of data analytics solutions, from understanding business requirements to designing and rolling out BI solutions to end-users. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong analytical background who is adept at using data to solve complex business problems and have a blend of technical and financial expertise and a deep understanding of the Financial Force system.  

 Responsibilities 

• Comprehend and translate business requirements into technical specifications within the BI context, design data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights and establish timelines for task completion. 
• Generate charts and document data with explanations of algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships. 
• Lead the design and development of advanced BI solutions and interactive dashboards using Power BI. 
• Utilize Microsoft Fabric to create custom user interfaces and integrate them seamlessly with Power BI reports and dashboards. 
• Architect and maintain complex data models to support data analysis and business reporting needs. 
• Design, develop, and deploy Power BI scripts, conducting detailed analyses efficiently and maintain scalable and reliable analytical tools and dashboards. 
• Develop and optimize DAX queries and Power Query transformations to enhance data analysis capabilities within PowerBI 
• Define and design new systems by analyzing existing ETL processes.
• Implement technical modifications to existing BI systems to improve their functionality.
• Reconcile data between source and target.
• Implement effective data security and governance protocols within Power BI solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with well-defined objectives and consistently monitor them.
• Engage in data warehouse development.
• Utilize SQL querying to achieve optimal results.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Provide ongoing maintenance support.
• Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver BI solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing data validation and cleanup.
• Stay current with BI technologies and analytics trends to enhance the business intelligence framework. 

 Requirements 

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience with BI reporting tools, specifically Microsoft Power BI. 
• Profound knowledge in data integration, data warehousing, modeling, business intelligence, and presentation concepts. 
• Experience with tools and systems in the MS SQL Server BI Stack, including SSRS, TSQL, Power Query, MDX, Power BI, and DAX. 
• Have experience in Azure Synapse Analytics and/or Microsoft Fabric interfaces and integrate them seamlessly with Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Proficiency in creating data-rich dashboards and implementing row-level security in Power BI. 
• Strong command of SQL, including joins, indexing, partitions, functions, views, procedures, etc.
• Familiarity with coding languages such as Java, XML, and SQL is preferred.
• Understanding of warehousing architecture techniques.
• Experience in data warehousing (DWH) and Big Data.
• Proven work experience as a BI Reports developer.
• Sufficient knowledge of OLAP, SSAS, SSIS, and MDX.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience with Cloud Deployments, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
