Global Service Provider (SP) Key Accounts EMEA

At the heart of Juniper, is the Sales Engineering team which enables Juniper to sell and support sophisticated networking and security solutions. We have an exciting Systems Engineering Leadership opportunity open in our Global SP Key Accounts EMEA Sales Engineering team!

As a Senior Systems Engineering Leader, you are a people-focused technical sales professional who has experience working with large Service Providers. The primary focus of this role is to provide technical direction and mentorship to the Systems Engineering teams, aligning outcome-based solutions with our accounts, helping to ensure quick & effective resolution of customer escalations. You will be expected to maintain a broad knowledge of Juniper technology solutions and related customer experience programs. You will build and maintain strong professional relationships with Customers and Business Partners as well as gathering and directing market intelligence and customer feedback.

You will be the CTO partner to the Sales Directors to drive revenue growth for Juniper by demonstrating the business value of Juniper’s solutions, and services.

Daily activities include direct customer & partner engagement; Inspires, attracts, develops, and retains high-performing teams and individual contributors; Defines and manages resource requirement allocations, monitors and improves quality; Directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Coordinates proposal development; solution demonstrations; proof-of-concept test design & execution.  The Senior SE Manager also works collaboratively within Juniper to highlight emerging customer requirements & use cases, convey competitive landscape, and coordinate between Juniper & Partners to ensure implementations meet or exceed customer expectations.  Additionally, time is invested in technical, professional and leadership development through self-study and formal training.

You are a leader who is equally comfortable developing technical solutions, solving problems across the technical and business domains, and guiding others to be successful with these solutions. You have a structured approach to problem-solving and can communicate clearly, concisely, and in simple terms. You have proven to be a trusted advisor to clients, who is quota driven and focused on providing the best solutions to your customers. You have demonstrated ability to lead executive-level discussions. You are willing to do things differently to explore new opportunities and know how to validate potential and feasibility quickly. You are passionate about making a difference and working with teams to educate and encourage them to influence change. You can comfortably navigate a large corporation and get others passionate about following your lead while being a technical mentor to others on the team.

Beyond the networking knowledge and experience you have acquired during your career, you have at least 5 years leadership and management experience and/or proven ability to build strong relationships with peer technical leaders, sales leaders, architects, and product/software teams. You are comfortable engaging in solution ideation, technical conversations, executive communication, problem solving, and consensus building. You also demonstrate the ability to be successful in a team-oriented environment and perform well under pressure.

Position Specifics and Qualifications

  • This position is based in Germany and requires German as native/fluent language. 
     
  • You will join the Juniper team dedicated to Global SP Key accounts business and you will be responsible for one or more SP Tier1s in EMEA; this will therefore imply occasional international travels. 
     
  • Detailed understanding of pre-sales engineering and sales stage processes including PoCs, validation and solution dependencies within the Service Provider market segment.
     
  • Familiarity with current networking and business models, trends, market dynamics and technological adjacencies such as Virtualization, Software/OS, Cloud Services, IP Transport, Data Center, Automation, Security, 5G Mobile, SASE, …
     
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and collaborative working skills.
