Job Summary

As a Lead Data Scientist (VP) supporting the American Dream Initiative (ADI), you will lead high-visibility work that defines how the initiative understands customers, measures progress, and proves impact. You will partner with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Research, Finance, Technology, and other analytics teams to build foundational customer outcome metrics (including a financial health indicator), develop data-informed customer personas that blend qualitative and quantitative insights, stand up automated reporting and OKR/target frameworks, and establish robust testing and readout practices to evaluate customer experiences and programs. This role requires strong technical depth, structured problem solving in ambiguous environments, and clear executive-ready communication.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead development of ADI measurement strategies, including a financial health indicator and supporting customer outcome/engagement metrics that are scalable and decision-ready.
  • Drive cross-firm data discovery and integration to enable measurement (identify sources, align definitions, resolve gaps, and coordinate with partner teams).
  • Establish and own metric governance and automated reporting (KPI/OKR framework, target-setting support, dashboards/scorecards, and quality controls).
  • Develop customer personas and segments by integrating qualitative customer research with quantitative behavioral, product, and engagement data; translate findings into actionable narratives and opportunities.
  • Build and operationalize a testing and impact measurement framework for ADI experiences/programs (experiment design, readouts, and recommendations to improve future iterations).
  • Execute complex analyses and models using SQL and Python in big-data environments to inform targeting, personalization, and customer engagement strategy.
  • Communicate clearly to senior stakeholders and mentor team members; ensure work aligns with business goals, compliance requirements, and responsible analytics/model risk practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Hold a Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline and 3+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or Finance
  • Six years of experience managing and analyzing large-scale data using SQL
  • Six years of experience with Python, R, or similar languages for data analysis and modeling
  • Six years of experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Demonstrated expertise in experimental design, A/B testing, and statistical analysis
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects and delivering actionable insights that drive business outcomes
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience enhancing data collection, processing, and validation procedures
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
