Tasks and Authorizations

  • Own assigned Industrial IT applications and ensure stable, compliant, and reliable operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues and implement improvements that increase performance and availability.
  • Participate in a rotating weekend on‑call service to safeguard system continuity.
  • Execute and coordinate essential lifecycle activities, including configuration, monitoring, documentation, user management, patching, backup, and recovery.
  • Coordinate with IT, engineering, and vendors on system upgrades, integrations, and the deployment of new Industrial IT applications.
  • Plan and execute commissioning, testing, validation, and operational readiness activities for new or updated systems.
  • Take an active role in deviations, CAPAs, investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders about system health, risks, decisions, and project progress.

Qualifications

We are looking for a solid technical foundation combined with relevant professional experience and the ability to translate expertise into independent system ownership.

  • Relevant professional experience with Industrial IT, industrial automation, or related systems in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
  • Solid grasp of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, segmentation, and firewalls.
  • Ability to use scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python to automate routine tasks.

The skills below are not mandatory but provide a strong advantage in this role.

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry (GxP, GAMP, qualification, etc.)
  • Knowledge of particle monitoring platforms—ideally LMS Pharma (SE Geoscada)
  • Understanding of Windows Server–based applications, including basic troubleshooting and system administration.
  • Familiarity with data historian solutions such as AVEVA PI or similar time‑series data platforms.
  • Awareness of Industrial IT cybersecurity principles (NIS2, ISA‑95, Purdue Model) is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory for user and access management.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions used in Industrial IT environments.
  • Experience with Industrial IT monitoring tools, such as PRTG.

Attitude

  • Works as an open, collaborative team player with a strong service mindset.
  • Acts in line with Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives, integrating them into daily work and decision-making.

  • Applies a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and continuously expands knowledge of Industrial IT technologies.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work independently, coordinates effectively, and follows through on commitments, including under pressure.
  • Communicates clearly and constructively, focusing on solutions and alignment with stakeholders.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Automation, Electromechanics, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with Industrial IT affinity — or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Typically, at least three years of relevant professional experience in Industrial IT, industrial automation, manufacturing IT, or a comparable technical environment.
