Location: Izmir-Izmir-Turkey

Time Type: Full time

Job Description

Quality Engineer, İzmir Plant

At Johnson Controls, our İzmir Plant team focuses on product quality, process stability, and continuous improvement across production, suppliers, and customer feedback loops. This role supports day-to-day quality performance, quality system execution, and timely problem solving in a manufacturing environment.

What you will do

The Quality Engineer supports the plant’s quality performance by monitoring key measures, driving corrective action, and working closely with Operations, Suppliers, and customer-facing stakeholders. You will help improve production quality deliverables such as CDTR, DPU, and warranty performance while supporting the implementation of quality systems, audits, control plans, and problem-solving activities.

How you will do

  • Lead incoming quality activities and support continuous improvement of production quality deliverables, including CDTR, DPU, and warranty performance.
  • Act as a key quality contact for Operations on customer issues, quality concerns, and containment actions.
  • Monitor quality key measures and support customer-specific quality initiatives.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, and ISO45001:2018 systems.
  • Assess and approve post-S.O.P. supplier PPAPs and support supplier issue resolution.
  • Analyze production defects, support root-cause analysis, and maintain control plans.
  • Review and update Quality Gates and control points based on customer feedback and plant data.
  • Perform Layered Process Audits (LPA), Process Audits, and Gemba Audits as part of the plant quality system.
  • Support the continuous improvement of Operator Description Sheets (ODS) and inspection control checklists.
  • Use customer complaints and field service data to improve inspection methods and quality controls.
  • Prepare internal training content, KPI reports, and audit follow-up actions.
  • Support warranty issue follow-up, and corrective actions when needed.
  • Participate in PFMEA, Gemba, and continuous improvement workgroups.
  • Support final quality inspection activities and the effective use of statistical tools in the plant.

How You Will Do It

  • Take ownership of outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity by following issues through to closure and keeping actions, records, and escalations clear and timely.
  • Stay close to the work and focus on what matters by using shop-floor observations, customer feedback, and field data to prioritize the issues that most affect quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Improve every day through candid problem solving by using 8D, A3, Lean 6 Sigma, and data analysis to remove root causes rather than treating symptoms.
  • Work as one team across Operations, Suppliers, and Quality by sharing facts early, aligning on actions, and building trust through collaboration and practical follow-up.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Operations, Suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Control Plan, PFMEA, and Part Product Approval processes.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Certified Internal Auditor.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and a strong data-driven approach to quality issues.
  • Familiarity with TSEK, and Eurovent
  • Compliance know-how (CE-Pressure Equipment Directive, UL-ETL, ASME)

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience in welding and brazing processes.
  • Experience in the HVAC industry.
