Job Description

Johnson Controls is a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings. With operations in over 150 countries, we are committed to driving innovation and excellence in building technologies and integrated solutions. Our people are at the heart of our success, and we are passionate about attracting and developing top talent across the globe. We are looking for a Mechanical Facilities Engineer - Stiva 4.

What will you do?

  • The Mechanical Infrastructure & Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading end‑to‑end infrastructure, construction, and mechanical facilities projects across the site. This includes full accountability for scope definition, engineering, budgeting, procurement, construction supervision, commissioning, and handover.

  • The role ensures that all mechanical and MEP infrastructure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with JCI standards, NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA, local building codes, and corporate Stage‑Gate governance.

  •  Additionally, the position provides technical leadership for site utilities and mechanical systems, supporting reliability, lifecycle optimization, and energy performance.

How will you do it?

1. Lead full lifecycle infrastructure and construction projects — from conceptual engineering and design development through execution, commissioning, and final handover, ensuring compliance with NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA, NOM, and building codes.

2. Develop and validate technical documentation including Basis of Design (BoD), design criteria, calculations, mechanical/MEP drawings, P&IDs, specifications, scopes of work, and engineering deliverables from EPC/EPCM partners.

3. Plan, manage, and control project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and procurement, following Johnson Controls’ Stage‑Gate process, ensuring cost accuracy, timely execution, and controlled change management.

4. Supervise construction activities on site, performing QA/QC inspections, reviewing method statements and submittals, coordinating multidisciplinary contractors, and ensuring execution meets design, safety, and quality standards.

5. Lead commissioning, start‑up, testing, and system validation, ensuring equipment performance, resolving punch‑list items, and securing all required as‑builts, O&M manuals, and warranties.

6. Oversee mechanical utilities and facilities systems (HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, pumping systems, industrial gases), providing engineering support to maintenance, reliability, and lifecycle optimization strategies (PPM, PdM, RCM).

7. Drive reliability and operational continuity by supporting root‑cause analysis, eliminating recurrent failures, optimizing MTBF/MTTR, and ensuring availability of critical utilities.

8. Ensure safety and regulatory compliance by enforcing LOTO, permits to work, construction safety controls, and environmental requirements; coordinating inspections with internal EHS and external authorities.

9. Implement and track energy efficiency improvements, monitoring mechanical system consumption (kWh, TR, Nm³), identifying savings opportunities, and supporting ROI/payback analyses for reduction projects.

10. Communicate effectively with stakeholders (Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Finance, Procurement, EPCs, contractors), providing clear reporting on progress, risks, KPIs, decisions, and project alignment with business objectives.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • 3–5 years in industrial facilities, utilities, or mechanical infrastructure.

  • Proven experience managing mechanical projects and supervising contractors.

  • Familiarity with CMMS (SAP PM, Maximo).

  • Strong technical hydraulic, pneumatic and gases knowledge.

  • Management and leadership skills.

  • Contractor and supplier management

  • Effective communication.

  • Problem-solving and analysis.

  • Planning and organization.

  • Teamwork and collaboration.

  • Computer-aided design (CAD) software.

  • Project management tools.

  • Analysis and simulation software.

What do we offer?

  • Comprehensive benefits package.

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • Supportive and inclusive work environment.

  •  Commitment to work-life balance and employee well-being.

  • Engagement in meaningful projects that make a difference.
