Your Responsibilities
As an Engineer, Software for John Deere in Cary, NC, you will:
- Make software design and implementation decisions on complex software designs;
- Execute the development of model based software applications and simulations to solve complex vehicle system problems and provide direct customer value;
- Analyze requirements and develop appropriate software model designs to fulfill the requirements;
- Lead the team in best practices for model based software design from guidance developed in community of practice;
- Design and execute automated software tests to test software models;
- Recognize, propose, and implement process and product efficiency improvements;
- Provide technical support to the product support functional area for field issues;
- Provide urgent and critical Turf Care factory support for line stopping software issue;
- Plan and execute Turf Care factory line programming of new controllers and changes to programming of existing controllers.
- Up to 1 day of remote work allowed. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite.
What Skills You Need
- 2 years of experience in specify, design, develop, and test the embedded basic software needed to support vehicle control systems, ensuring that it is reusable across platforms while utilizing MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, GitHub, and Artifactory throughout the process
- 2 years of experience in develop unit test cases to validate the software using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow, and integrate the testing process with Jenkins and GitHub
- 1 years of experience in integrate autocode generated from MATLAB into the ECU project, addressing any linker issues and resolving linking errors using embedded C code
- 1 years of experience in develop a functional test plan and create Model-in-the-Loop (MiL) test cases that maximize Modified Condition/Decision Coverage (MCDC) based on operator inputs using MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, and Model Advisor
- 1 years of experience in conduct verification and validation of the developed software on hardware utilizing PCAN, CANape, and CANalyzer tools to log test data and facilitate communication between various Electronic Control Units (ECUs) using the J1939 protocol
- 1 years of experience in automate manual steps in the development process by utilizing M-script and Python to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 3 years related experience.
