Job Description

This position focuses exclusively on hardware design and testing for power electronics and embedded electronic systems. The engineer will be responsible for microcontroller selection, signalconditioning design, powerstage development, prototyping, validation, and compliance testing. 

Qualifications

B.E./ B. Tech in EEE/ECE (M.E./ M.Tech a plus). 

Experience: 4-7 years

 

COMPETENCIES

∙Working experience & Master in subject in Power electronics (Mosfets & Drivers) and design of power stage with filters and considering Analog, Digital & Isolated grounds. 

∙Very Good experience in fault diagnostic and analysis. 

∙Working experience in motor control drivers and PWM 

∙Working experiences in LT Spice, Matlab, Simulink for schematic & signal analysis. 

∙Working experiences on power supply design (Boost & Buck converter) 

 

∙Working experience in Signals conditioning and board level design. 

∙Strong lab debugging skills and comfort with HV/LV bench testing. 

∙Knowledge of EMI/EMC design practices and relevant safety standards 

∙Good knowledge in PCB layout and board development 

∙Excellent analytical, documentation, and problemsolving skills

∙Good communication skills. 

 

. Embedded Hardware Design 

∙Selection of microcontrollers based on application needs, I/O count, ADC resolution, communication interfaces (UART/SPI/I²C/CAN), power consumption, package, and lifecycle availability. 

∙Designing signalconditioning circuits for sensors and inputs:

oAnalog frontends 

oFilters (RC/active) 

oLevel shifting 

oProtection circuits (ESD, surge, overvoltage, reverse polarity) 

oIsolation circuits (digital / analog isolators, optoisolators) 

2. Power Electronics Hardware Development 

∙Designing and validating:

oDCDC converters (buck/boost/flyback) 

oACDC stages (isolated & nonisolated) 

oBLDC/PMSM motor drive hardware (gate drivers, current/voltage sensing, protection) 

∙Semiconductor device selection (MOSFET, IGBT, SiC/GaN optional). 

∙Magnetics understanding (inductors, transformers, core selection, derating). 

∙Implementing safeoperating protection circuits (OV/OC/UV/OTP/SOA). 

3. Schematic & PCB Design (added would be advantage) 

∙Creating schematics and multilayer PCB designs with proper:

oCreepage/clearance 

oHighcurrent routing 

oImpedance control 

oThermal design 

oEMI/EMCaware placement 

∙Performing design reviews, BOM optimization, and DFM/DFT considerations. 

4. Hardware Testing & Validation 

∙Bench bringup of power stages, drivers, sensor circuits, and MCU hardware interfaces. 

∙Using lab equipment:​

Oscilloscope, power analyzer, electronic loads, spectrum analyzer, LCR meter, FRA/Bode analyzer, thermal camera. 

∙Performing:

oFunctional & parametric testing 

oLine/load transient tests 

oStability testing (Bode plots, compensation tuning) 

oThermal characterization 

oAnalog accuracy/noise characterization 

∙Conducting precompliance EMI/EMC checks. 

 

5. Documentation & CrossFunctional Support 

∙Preparing schematics, BOM, test reports, validation logs, and hardware release documentation. 

∙Supporting manufacturing with:

oTest jigs, fixtures 

oDFM/DFT improvements 

oFailure analysis (FA, RCA, 8D)

Understanding of motor control hardware (FOC, current sensing, resolver/encoder interfaces).

Test automation using Python/LabVIEW 

Experience with reliability engineering (DFMEA, MTBF).
