Accountabilities:

The Staff & Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering features and services within a cloud-native streaming data platform. This role requires strong technical ownership, expertise in distributed systems, and the ability to contribute across the entire software development lifecycle while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

• Design, implement, test, and deliver new features and improvements within the streaming data platform ecosystem.
• Build and maintain containerized solutions, operators, and workloads running on Kubernetes to support distributed data platform capabilities.
• Develop production-quality software, APIs, and integrations for customers running data-intensive streaming applications.
• Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Improve delivery processes by leveraging modern engineering tools, automation, AI-assisted development practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with product management, support, UX, documentation, and engineering teams to deliver successful projects using agile methodologies.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and customers, helping with implementation, troubleshooting, and adoption of streaming solutions.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions and promote secure, scalable, maintainable engineering practices.
• Participate in open-source innovation and help improve technologies powering modern data platforms.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with strong expertise in distributed systems, streaming technologies, and cloud-native development. You should have a passion for building high-quality software, solving complex engineering challenges, and working collaboratively on large-scale technology solutions.

• Deep experience with Apache Flink and streaming data technologies.
• Strong expertise in Java and familiarity with the Java ecosystem, including frameworks such as Spring, Quarkus, Hibernate, Maven, and Gradle.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Operators, and CRDs.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, architecture patterns, and scalable system development.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reliable code with a strong focus on quality.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, delivery automation, and modern development workflows.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional engineering teams with a high level of ownership.
• Strong problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and ability to independently drive complex initiatives.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and/or 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Additional experience that is considered a plus:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with distributed data technologies such as Apache Kafka, NiFi, or Spark.
• Knowledge of Scala, Python, or Go.
• Experience collaborating on frontend technologies such as React, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience designing and implementing advanced delivery pipelines.
