As a Senior Software Engineer, you will shape the technical direction of customer-facing applications and build robust backend services that power trading, payments, and crypto experiences.

Accountabilities

Lead technical architecture and delivery: Own the design, development, and delivery of customer-facing Rust backend services supporting trading, payments, and cryptocurrency experiences, making architectural decisions that prioritize scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
Drive complex engineering initiatives: Take ambiguous, multi-quarter projects from initial discovery through implementation, launch, and measurement, breaking down complex challenges into manageable workstreams that enable parallel execution.
Own end-to-end product outcomes: Go beyond backend implementation to understand the broader customer experience, collaborate across frontend and backend systems, and ensure technical solutions address real user needs.
Shape product strategy and roadmaps: Partner with product leadership to define priorities, influence feature decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and take accountability for the outcomes and performance metrics of delivered solutions.
Coordinate cross-functional initiatives: Work closely with trading infrastructure, platform engineering, and other product teams to establish technical alignment, manage dependencies, and deliver initiatives that span multiple teams.
Mentor and develop engineers: Support the growth of mid-level engineers through mentorship, thoughtful code and design reviews, technical documentation, and the development of shared engineering standards.
Champion AI-assisted engineering: Integrate AI tools into daily development workflows to accelerate coding, explore unfamiliar codebases, validate implementations, and solve problems across technical domains. Help establish effective practices for AI-assisted software development across the team.
Promote engineering excellence: Maintain high standards for code quality, system design, technical decision-making, and customer experience while balancing rapid delivery with reliability and long-term product quality.
Requirements
Professional experience: At least 6 years of backend software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on expertise in Rust.
Rust and distributed systems: Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming, network services, distributed systems, RPC protocols, Kafka, and event-driven architectures.
Architecture and technical ownership: Proven experience designing and operating production systems, making architectural decisions, understanding their long-term consequences, and evaluating technical trade-offs.
Product engineering mindset: Experience taking features from problem discovery through implementation, launch, and evaluation of user impact. Ability to connect engineering decisions to customer experience, product metrics, and business outcomes.
Technical leadership and mentorship: Demonstrated ability to improve team performance through mentoring, design reviews, technical writing, engineering standards, or other initiatives that influence how teams work.
Cross-functional collaboration: Experience leading projects across multiple teams or organizational boundaries, including managing dependencies, aligning stakeholders, and coordinating delivery.
AI-first development practices: Meaningful experience using AI tools in software development, including code generation, understanding unfamiliar systems, exploring new technical areas, and validating implementations.
Ownership and adaptability: A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently, take responsibility for end-to-end outcomes, and operate effectively across technical boundaries.
Commitment to continuous improvement: Openness to evolving engineering practices and a focus on delivering valuable products efficiently rather than relying exclusively on manual coding.
Preferred qualifications: Experience with React, TypeScript, or other frontend technologies; familiarity with cryptocurrency or blockchain systems; experience scaling consumer-facing products with substantial user bases; or experience introducing AI tools and workflows to engineering teams.
