Workplace Type: remote
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (.NET/C#/Azure) based in the United States.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help modernize a large-scale digital auction platform for a wholesale marketplace. In this fully remote contract role, you will build a new, independent backend designed to replace legacy auction management capabilities and support a digital-first experience. You will contribute to core platform features spanning inventory management, financial transactions, and customer management. Working across multiple teams, you will translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions using C#, .NET Core, Microsoft Azure, and Azure DevOps. The role combines hands-on software development with technical collaboration, architectural best practices, and continuous delivery. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a complex modernization initiative while working in an agile, technology-driven environment that embraces AI-assisted development.
Accountabilities
-
Develop and implement core features for the new digital auction platform, including functionality for inventory management, financial transactions, and customer management.
-
Write high-quality, maintainable, testable, and efficient C# code using .NET Core and established object-oriented programming principles.
-
Collaborate with engineers across multiple teams and work closely with product managers to translate business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
-
Design, implement, and optimize data models, database interactions, and storage solutions to support platform performance and reliability.
-
Build and maintain integrations between the new platform, existing systems, and third-party services.
-
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and contribute to sound software architecture and technical design decisions.
-
Apply appropriate design patterns and engineering best practices to address complex technical challenges.
-
Create, maintain, and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps.
-
Leverage Microsoft Azure services and infrastructure to support the development, deployment, scalability, and operation of platform components.
-
Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback to colleagues, and promote consistent engineering standards across teams.
-
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues, identifying root causes and improving application performance, stability, and reliability.
-
Contribute to technical documentation, coding standards, development guidelines, and knowledge-sharing practices.
-
Work effectively within an agile development environment, adapting to changing requirements and coordinating dependencies across teams.
-
Apply agentic workflows and AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to improve engineering productivity and problem-solving effectiveness.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
-
At least seven years of professional C# development experience, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
