Senior Software Engineer - Messaging

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale messaging and streaming infrastructure supporting high-volume asynchronous communication across distributed services.
• Contribute to long-term technical strategies and architectural decisions that enable continued platform growth and reliability.
• Build and optimize infrastructure responsible for handling high-throughput message production and consumption workflows.
• Own and improve managed and self-hosted messaging platforms, including operational tooling, automation, monitoring, and reliability improvements.
• Develop new features, performance optimizations, and bug fixes for distributed messaging systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, machine learning, data science, search, and product teams to create scalable technical solutions.
• Improve system availability, efficiency, and resilience while maintaining a strong reliability standard.
• Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and initiatives that improve engineering practices and infrastructure capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building internet-scale software systems, distributed infrastructure, or large-scale backend services.
• Strong software development experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
• Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting distributed systems and messaging platforms.
• Hands-on experience working with technologies such as Kafka and Kubernetes; experience with Strimzi is a strong advantage.
• Proven ability to develop scalable solutions, optimize system performance, and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure operations, automation, and reliability best practices.
• Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, machine learning, and product stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
