Accountabilities:

The Senior Manager, Software Engineer will lead software engineering teams responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting products and services. This role requires strong technical leadership, resource management, and the ability to deliver complex projects while fostering team growth and operational excellence.

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers responsible for delivering functionality across multiple technologies and solution areas.
• Plan, guide, and oversee software development projects of varying complexity, scope, and business impact.
• Manage the design, development, testing, and implementation of software solutions that meet established requirements.
• Oversee production support activities, troubleshooting efforts, and resolution of customer or system issues.
• Partner closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to ensure solutions align with organizational objectives and user needs.
• Evaluate project proposals, technical concepts, and development efforts to support effective planning and prioritization.
• Allocate resources and manage priorities to ensure successful delivery of enhancements and strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of meaningful technology changes.
• Manage competing priorities, deadlines, and complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development support to software engineers.
• Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
• Apply independent judgment and leadership to resolve challenges and drive successful outcomes.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering expertise combined with proven experience leading development teams and managing complex technology initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of management experience, including hiring, training, assigning work, and managing performance for direct reports.
• Experience leading software development teams and delivering enterprise-level applications or services.
• Strong software development background with experience in Java, web services, system integrations, and relational database platforms.
• Demonstrated experience implementing significant systems, technology, or process improvements.
• Ability to evaluate priorities and make resource decisions based on business value and available capacity.
• Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, assignments, and technical challenges.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with experience collaborating across teams and business functions.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operate effectively in a dynamic organization.
