Senior Enterprise Engineer

Team: IT

Location: US

Commitment: Full-time

Workplace Type: remote

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Enterprise Engineer based in United States.

This is an opportunity to join a small, high-trust engineering team building the interconnected systems that power critical business operations.
You’ll design and develop enterprise solutions spanning internal APIs, MCP servers, automated workflows, lightweight applications, and AI-enabled systems.
The role offers significant end-to-end ownership, from understanding business needs and shaping architecture to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
You’ll work closely with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to turn complex operational requirements into reliable, scalable solutions.
A strong emphasis is placed on clean engineering, maintainability, deterministic AI behavior, and thoughtful technical standards.
You’ll also help establish how AI agents and automation are safely and effectively integrated into enterprise workflows.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced Python engineer who enjoys solving ambiguous problems and delivering practical technology with broad internal impact.

Accountabilities

    • Build and maintain MCP servers that expose data platform capabilities and enterprise business systems to internal tools and AI-driven workflows in a deterministic and reliable manner.
    • Design and develop internal APIs that expand the ecosystem of programmatically accessible enterprise resources.
    • Build lightweight web applications and dashboards using Streamlit or comparable frameworks to support internal teams and business processes.
    • Develop stateful applications that help ensure standard operating procedures are followed consistently and in compliance with applicable policies.
    • Design, develop, and maintain automated workflows and pipelines primarily using Python.
    • Establish a software development lifecycle for transforming high-value macros and user-created tools into maintainable standalone services and reusable low-code workflows.
    • Define coding standards, engineering practices, and best practices for interacting with AI agents across the organization.
    • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, scope projects, prioritize solutions, and deliver reliable outcomes.
    • Take ownership of projects throughout their full lifecycle, including architecture, development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
    • Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code while contributing to a strong culture of technical quality and engineering excellence.
    • Requirements

      • 5+ years of professional experience developing software with Python.
      • 3+ years of experience designing and building APIs, preferably using FastAPI or Flask.
      • 3+ years of experience with full-stack Python development.
      • Hands-on experience building or working with MCP servers.
      • Experience with deterministic LLM programming and AI orchestration concepts, including technologies or patterns such as LangChain, UserPromptSubmit, and PostToolUse.
      • Familiarity with OLTP databases and caching technologies.
      • Strong SQL skills and proven experience working with relational databases.
      • Strong understanding of software development practices, API architecture, automation, and enterprise systems.
      • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Demonstrated ability to independently own complex projects from initial scoping and architecture through deployment and maintenance.
      • Experience working in ambiguous environments where initiative, sound judgment, and practical problem-solving are highly valued.
      • Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services is a plus.
      • Familiarity with Streamlit or similar lightweight UI frameworks is advantageous.
      • Experience with workflow automation platforms such as Airflow, Prefect, or n8n is a plus.
      • Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure is beneficial.
      • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship or visa transfer.
      • Benefits

        • Base salary range of $175,000–$190,000, with final compensation based on skills, experience, education, training, and other relevant factors.
        • Remote position available to candidates permanently located within the United States.
        • Market-leading medical, dental, and vision insurance.
        • Stock options.
        • Premium-tier financial wellness subscription at no cost.
        • Monthly home-office stipend.
        • 401(k) plan.
        • 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents.
        • Flexible time off plus sick and safe time.
        • 11 paid company holidays.
        • Same-day pay option.
        • Remote-first, collaborative environment emphasizing transparency, accountability, trust, and autonomy.
        • Opportunity to work on enterprise automation, AI-enabled workflows, and systems with broad organizational impact.
