Accountabilities:

The role will focus on designing, developing, and delivering AI-powered application capabilities while ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability across enterprise environments. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the full software development lifecycle, from application design and API development to deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
• Building application layers, business logic, and API workflows that connect AI capabilities with data management systems.
• Integrating AI agent frameworks and interoperability protocols such as LangChain, MCP, and A2A to support scalable AI applications.
• Developing secure and versioned data models that support multi-tenant environments, auditability, governance, and data classification.
• Designing and deploying application services across major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as on-premises environments.
• Implementing automated CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices to ensure consistent delivery.
• Optimizing application performance through query optimization, profiling, caching strategies, and proactive security practices.
• Designing and maintaining REST and/or gRPC APIs for internal and external consumers.
• Applying database expertise to build efficient solutions involving SQL, indexing, transactions, schema design, and advanced relational database capabilities.
• Implementing monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions to ensure production reliability.
• Taking ownership of technical decisions, participating in design and code reviews, and mentoring other engineers.
• Collaborating with product, engineering, and customer teams in an asynchronous, remote-first environment.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering experience with expertise in AI applications, databases, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise-grade systems. Required qualifications and skills include:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 2 years of experience working on data-intensive applications, database-related features, or enterprise software solutions.
• Proven experience owning and delivering production features or modules from initial specification through deployment.
• Hands-on experience deploying, debugging, and managing application services across at least two major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong Python programming skills for AI application development, along with advanced proficiency in another backend language such as Go, Java, or C++.
• Experience building or integrating LLM-based applications, AI workflows, agent frameworks, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• Familiarity with AI agent technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, including SQL, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and schema design.
• Experience with vector databases, embedding pipelines, semantic search, or AI data retrieval systems.
• Knowledge of temporal data models, event-driven systems, audit logging, or system-versioned data approaches.
• Strong understanding of application security principles, including authentication, authorization, RBAC, row-level security, and multi-tenant data isolation.
• Experience designing and implementing REST or gRPC APIs.
• Familiarity with application monitoring practices, structured logging, distributed tracing, and operational alerting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in remote and cross-functional environments.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience contributing to open-source projects related to databases, AI/ML applications, or developer tooling.
• Experience developing MCP servers or integrating A2A protocols into production systems.
• Familiarity with AI memory frameworks such as Mem0, Graphiti, or Letta.
• Experience with graph databases, semantic caching, Redis, or in-memory data technologies.
• Experience deploying applications in regulated, secure, or air-gapped environments.
• Knowledge of database application development, temporal SQL, or MySQL-compatible technologies.
