Senior Backend Software Engineer

Accountabilities:

• Lead the end-to-end development of complex backend features, including design, implementation, testing, debugging, and deployment.
• Drive technical decisions and contribute to scalable, maintainable architecture aligned with long-term business and product objectives.
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing to foster team growth.
• Identify operational risks and improve system reliability through redundancy planning, disaster recovery strategies, and service availability initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive, customer-focused solutions.
• Promote engineering excellence by improving development processes, encouraging automation, and enhancing overall delivery efficiency.
• Contribute to the stability, performance, and observability of high-traffic backend systems.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience developing backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, software design patterns, and backend engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience building scalable microservices and working with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining enterprise-grade, high-availability software systems.
• Ability to design scalable architectures that balance immediate business needs with long-term sustainability.
• Strong commitment to writing clean, testable, observable, and maintainable code.
• Experience supporting high-traffic applications and distributed systems is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform and container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD tools such as Jenkins is an advantage.
• Interest in open-source technologies and an understanding of user experience considerations are considered valuable assets.
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills.
