Accountabilities:

As an Android Engineer, you will design, develop, and improve mobile applications while contributing to a high-quality, privacy-focused software platform. You will take ownership of technical initiatives, collaborate closely with a distributed engineering team, and help deliver reliable features to a large user base.

• Develop and maintain Android applications using modern mobile development practices.
• Design and implement major product enhancements while contributing to technical architecture decisions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and reliable code with a strong focus on quality and performance.
• Work extensively with Kotlin, Java, and the Android framework to build scalable mobile experiences.
• Contribute to an open-source Android codebase and participate in improving engineering practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to solve complex technical challenges and deliver impactful features.
• Manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail and technical excellence.
• Participate in discussions around product direction, engineering decisions, and user experience improvements.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced Android developer with strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for building secure, user-focused applications. You should be comfortable taking ownership of complex projects and collaborating effectively within a distributed team environment.

• 5+ years of professional industry experience in Android development.
• Deep knowledge of Kotlin and Java programming languages.
• Extensive experience with the Android framework and mobile application development lifecycle.
• Proven experience designing and architecting major new features or enhancements.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, code quality, and maintainable architecture.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a small, distributed team.
• Ability to quickly contribute to existing codebases and understand complex technical systems.
• Passion for privacy, security, and building technology that creates meaningful value for users.
