Junior Software Developer

Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Junior Software Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of mission-critical software applications while working alongside experienced developers and technical teams.

This position is hybrid and requires on-site support at Scott AFB, IL.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable code using object-oriented design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Participate in code reviews, both submitting work for review and reviewing others' code.
• Support and maintain legacy .NET Framework applications under the direction of seniors.
• Contribute to scoped portions of the application design process.
• Assist in triaging production issues alongside senior developers and DevOps.
• Document assigned work and communicate status clearly to a cross-functional development team.
• Build working knowledge of the program's technology stack and the Agile process.
• Stay current on programming techniques and software technologies.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance (required).
• 0–2 years of relevant programming/software development experience.
• Obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire date (required).

Desired Skills:

• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS EC2).
• Experience working on a GIS application.
• Experience with Oracle.
• Experience developing in Java.
• Familiarity with basic server administration tasks.
• Familiarity with Information Assurance (IA) and QA.
