Software Engineer I (Java)

This role is hybrid in the Czech Republic. We are only able to accept applications for those based in the Czech Republic and have sponsorship to live and work in the Czech Republic.  

What you'll do at Jamf: 

At Jamf, we empower people to be their best selves and do their best work. You will become a member of a team responsible for critical parts of our Jamf Security Cloud product. This team focuses on endpoint and network threat protection and detection of various vulnerabilities, developing and maintaining for this purpose a set of microservices written mainly in Java. Services are deployed to many data centers across the globe. You will be joining a full-stack team that takes care of all steps that form the software development lifecycle.  

We are looking for a person who strives to deliver a high-quality product. To achieve this, you will not only need to master the writing of the code itself but also be able to communicate with your peers effectively in the mixed in-person and remote environment of today.

What you can expect to do in this role: 

• Independently complete a majority of identified tasks from start to finish with high quality and collaborate with more experienced Engineers when needed. 

• Efficiently use available tools with minimal guidance. 

• Demonstrate solid understanding of Engineering best practices. 

• Ask the right questions, solve problems and build great software. 

• Partner with team to understand and communicate technical concepts with others in the organization (Technical Communication, Support, Product and Cloud). 

• Performs well defined tasks with increasing independence and seeks guidance when needed from more experienced Engineers. 

• Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and purpose of the organization. 

• Adheres to the highest moral, ethical and legal standards to deliver an environment that promotes respect, innovation and creativity.

What we are looking for: 

• Min. 1 year of experience developing enterprise-grade software with an understanding of testing and quality assurance processes in Java programming language.  

• Knowledge and experience with Spring Boot.  

• Experience working within an agile organization.  

• Understanding of build systems such as Gitlab pipelines, Github Actions or Jenkins. 

• Solution-focused ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.  

• Willingness to learn.  

• Fluency in Czech/Slovak language and English as well. 

• Ability to come to our office in Brno 2 times per week.
