JOB SUMMARY

A Software Design Engineer will have a defined area of expertise either in a particular competency or industry. They will have mastered technology specific to their area of competence. Will be able to convey technical solutions to other engineers and to business personnel. Capable of being a proactive member in a cross functional team. They will be able to drive cross functional project teams in solving technical problems and overcoming hurdles that may affect project timelines. Will have previous experience of releasing a product into a manufacturing production environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read/Create/Understand URS (User-Required Specifications) and FDS (Functional Design Specifications)
• Programming fully functional Software solutions from Scratch. Software Debugging capability
• Customer service interface to conduct remote and on-site Software and Hardware operations
• Capable of using debugging techniques to resolve software problems/bugs and executing regression testing.
• Provide onsite technical support for all manufacturing builds and Engineers including prototypes, NPI & production releases
• Provide technical input to help identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedules
• Work with Project Managers and Lead Engineers in the quoting process and technical support related tasks
• Stay abreast of the latest technology and techniques to provide Software designs and systems that are efficient, competitive, and cost effective
• Would be considered a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in their field of competency
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Essential Skills:

• Programming in general and proficiency in C#, C++, vb.NET
• Use of Visual Studio Code, DevOps, and Git operations
• Mechanical Aptitude, hands-on work
• Computer & Automation Networks: Knowledge of TCP/IP and interconnecting controls devices and software platforms
• Knowledge in Robotics
• SEMI GEM300 standards Implementation
• Beckhoff TwinCAT, TwinSafe, EtherCAT
• SEMI GEM300 standards

Nice to have skills:

• Vision Systems and Optical Sensors
• Robot Programming
• Knowledge of the Semiconductors Industry and Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence.
• Python Programming 
• Desktop Full-Stack Development
• PLC Programming: Ladder Logic, Structured Text (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Keyence)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

·         Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Software or Electronics Engineering or similar, from an accredited four-year College or University
·         Minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or training
·         An equivalent combination of education, training or experience will be considered

The pay range for this role is $75,333 - $135,600. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
