AI Security Architect

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

We are currently looking for an AI Security Architect to support the Product Security team, with a particular focus on Data & AI, ensuring that AI, GenAI and Agentic AI solutions are designed, integrated and deployed securely.

Required Competencies:

• Strong background in Cybersecurity, particularly Application Security, Product Security and Security Architecture.

• Experience conducting security architecture reviews, threat modelling and technical security assessments.

• Understanding of AI, GenAI, LLMs and Agentic AI from a security and risk management perspective.

• Hands-on experience or relevant project exposure to AI/GenAI security.

• Ability to define and validate security requirements for AI platforms, APIs, agents, tool usage and integrations.

• Experience identifying and mitigating AI-related security risks, including:

  • Prompt injection and jailbreak attacks.

  • Sensitive information disclosure and data leakage.

  • Unsafe tool usage and excessive agency.

  • Uncontrolled resource consumption.

  • Insecure integrations and poisoned inputs.

• Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), API Security and Secrets Management.

• Experience with security logging, monitoring, audit trails and control validation.

• Knowledge of data protection, privacy, data minimisation and secure handling of sensitive or regulated information.

• Ability to define and validate security guardrails and secure-by-design controls.

• Experience reviewing technical implementations and ensuring compliance with security, privacy and auditability requirements.

• Ability to translate security risks into clear, practical and enforceable technical requirements.

Preferred Competencies:

• Experience with AWS and/or Azure, particularly in securing AI workloads.

• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Foundry, including security guardrails, access controls, logging and data protection.

• Knowledge of Databricks security, including access permissions, workspaces, pipelines, notebooks, secrets and data governance.

• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications / Agentic AI.

• Knowledge of SAIF (Secure AI Framework).

• Understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agent-to-tool security.

• Familiarity with Agent-to-Agent (A2A) architectures and agentic trust boundaries.

• Awareness of emerging AI security risk taxonomies, including MCP-38.

• Exposure to DevSecOps and/or MLOps in a security collaboration context.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.

• Ability to identify, prioritise and communicate security risks.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to challenge technical decisions constructively.

• Collaborative approach when working with Security, Product, Engineering and Data teams.

• Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

• Strong focus on practical, auditable and effective security controls.

Important Note:

This is a Cybersecurity role supporting the Product Security team, with a particular focus on Data & AI.

The ideal candidate should combine strong experience in Application Security and Security Architecture with hands-on experience or relevant project exposure to AI, GenAI and/or Agentic AI.

This position is not primarily focused on AI model development, Data Engineering or operational ownership of ML pipelines, notebooks or AI platforms.

Location: Portugal – Hybrid
Gross salary Range: 5.143€–5.429€
