Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
Quality Engineer will be responsible for quality aspects for supporting new product development / introduction, sustaining manufacturing and owning / completing projects to improve the performance of the products and processes we utilize at Intuitive. Main responsibility will be to perform as the DRI for S4 Hanna project, providing guidance, formulating technical requirements and modeling for the multiple quality processes related with SAP S4
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Process/CoE Lead – SAP (Quality) to join our global manufacturing team specializing in medical devices. This role will be responsible for indirectly leading and influencing stakeholders, while owning the end-to-end SAP process lifecycle, including design, build, test, sustainment, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing SAP-driven business processes, ensuring alignment with operational goals, and driving efficiency across the organization.
Essential Job Duties
- Drive the design, development, and implementation of SAP-enabled business processes, with a focus on Quality and Engineering.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and ensure SAP solutions align with business priorities.
- Oversee the testing and validation of SAP functionalities to ensure system integrity and compliance.
- Drive sustainment and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and business outcomes.
- Interface with a team of IT, process owners, analysts, and stakeholders to optimize SAP adoption and utilization.
- Responsible as a key liaison between business units, IT, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and operational excellence within SAP processes.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards specific to the medical device industry.
- Run the Quality Center of Excellence to drive best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement in quality-related processes.
- Provide leadership in developing, implementing, and managing SAP solutions for quality functions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Land our initial pilot rollout in Sunnyvale, CA and then help drive global solution adoption and process harmonization on future rollouts
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven leadership experience in managing teams and cross-functional projects.
- Proven expertise in SAP modules such as MM, PP, DS, SD, QM, and FI/CO.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end business processes in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
- Experience leading quality functions, including process design, implementation, and compliance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities at all organizational levels.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with Signavio business process management solutions is a huge plus
Required Education and Training
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP business process management within a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
- Must be able to traverse manufacturing and design spaces on multiple floors
- Must be able to travel by air as needed both domestically and internationally
Preferred Skills and Experience
- SAP certifications is preferred
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing initiatives / Six Sigma methodologies
- Understands root cause investigation process and able to initiate routine problem-solving investigations.
- Successfully autonomously manage small projects
