Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

This team member will report to the Senior Manager of PLO (portfolio lifecycle operations) and will be focused on the fast growing and highly innovative Multi-Port business unit.  This person should have a background which exhibits expertise in operational excellence, business process development and change management. The primary focus of this person’s role will be to provide project management across the entire lifecycle of Intuitive’s multi-port products; from pre-commercialization planning, to launch execution, to global obsolescence.  This person will require a global mindset, will be able to quickly comprehend unique regional challenges and opportunities, and will be able to provide functional project management for multiple worldwide regions simultaneously.  The person must excel in a high-energy team environment and be capable of making sound moves when faced with the time pressures and incomplete information typical of portfolio lifecycle management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Partner with core Intuitive functions (both US and International) to enable commercial readiness in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System and applicable regulations.
• Act as a springboard to align commercial timelines, requirements, and priorities with Commercial and Executive Leadership.
• Identify, create, and partner in the implementation of business process improvements, enabling tools, and systems that deliver tangible value to the Portfolio Lifecycle Operations (PLO), Program Management Office (PMO) the Multi-port business unit.
• Escalate threats to commercialization projects as required to functional management and senior leadership.
• Predict resources needed to reach goals and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
• Project manage all aspects of ISI’s Approved Product List (APL) activities and provide hyper-care for initial product imports and shipments. 

Functionally, work includes:

• Identifying critical path milestones and developing project plans/timelines with ISI functions, including Global Commercial leadership, Project Management Office, Customer Success, Trade Compliance, Global Logistics, Regulatory Affairs, Product Quality, and various shared service organizations.
• Leading core team forums to track milestone developments, flag risks and potential project delays and develop contingency plans, evaluate options for ensuring commercial and regional readiness, ensure proper flow of communications.
• Partnering with SMEs to perform comprehensive regional requirements evaluation (e.g. regulatory, trade compliance, hardware compliance, import/export), then coordinating development of processes to ensure compliance to regional requirements.

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in medical device as a project manager or in a regulatory, order management, logistics, operations, marketing, or services function
• Minimum 2 year’s experience in business process development, operational excellence, and change management
• Prior experience in leading projects in complex international markets is a major plus (example markets include Japan, China, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy, U.S.)

Nice to have:

• MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• PMP a plus
• Available to meet frequently with international teams outside of normal business hours
• Exceptional communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to work on several fast-paced projects simultaneously
• Written and oral fluency in English required
