About The Position

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Senior RF Communications Engineer to join our team. This position will be a senior member of the RF communications group with responsibility for the design, specification, procurement, integration and test of space communication systems for flight vehicles, ground stations, RF and communications link and mission analysis. The applicant will be located on-site in Houston, TX. Works closely with other discipline leads in integrated product teams to develop requirements, architecture, designs, and operations procedures for vehicle and ground systems supporting missions. 

Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the design, specification, procurement, integration and test of space communication systems for flight vehicles, ground stations, RF and communications link and mission analysis. 
• Works closely with other discipline leads in integrated product teams to develop requirements, architecture, designs, and operations procedures for vehicle and ground systems supporting IM’s and IM’s customer missions. 
• Strong background and experience in RF and electromagnetic theory, antennas, radios/transmitters/receivers/transponders, communications theory, space communication systems and architectures, space communication standards and protocols, and the design, manufacture, and test of hardware and systems for use in the space environment. 
• Mentors team members on processes, procedures, communication systems, antennas, and RF functions. 
• Experience with all phases of a space mission including concept/ideation, design, procurement/manufacturing, IT&V, and operations. 
• Supports IM’s advanced concepts, R&D, and business development activities as a subject matter expert. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

• Must have a MS or a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school with 10+ years in-field experience preferred. 
• Current or prior TS/SCI highly preferred
• Must have experience with space missions and/or ground systems used for space missions
• Must have completed RF Communications and antenna course work or demonstrates comparable work experience.
• Must have a broad knowledge of communication systems such as digital modulation, spread spectrum signals, signal detection, and forward error correction. Must have a broad knowledge of antenna analysis, Power flux density, and RF propagation.
• On-site, in office in Houston strongly preferred.
