Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), UN Volunteers with at least twelve (12) months of continuous service in IOM, and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.

Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Humanitarian Assistance Coordinator and direct supervision of the Head of Sub-Office Bihac, the Project Engineer will be responsible and accountable for managing and implementing engineering and construction-related activities, including the preparation of technical designs and documentation, support to procurement and tendering processes, supervision of construction works, quality control, coordination with contractors and suppliers, and ensuring that all project activities are carried out in accordance with applicable technical standards, local regulations, approved project documentation and IOM procedures.
