Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), UN Volunteers with at least twelve (12) months of continuous service in IOM, and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.
Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) of Uzbekistan and the direct supervision of the National Protection Officer (MPX), and, in collaboration with relevant units at Headquarters and the Administrative Centres, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for providing administrative support to the National Protection Officer of Migrants Protection and Assistance unit of IOM CO in Tashkent, assists in and contributes to implementation of the SWEDEN'S CONTRIBUTION TO SUPPORT IOM'S WORK ON PREVENTION OF IRREGULAR MIGRATION TO SWEDEN AND THE EU project (funded by Sweden Ministry of Justice) and STRENGTHENING SURVIVOR-CENTRED PROTECTION AND PREVENTION OF TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS IN UZBEKISTAN project funded by SIDA as well as Enhancing Protection of Migrants from Violence, Exploitation and Abuse in Central Asia project funded by NORAD related activities and will undertake the following tasks.
