Organizational Context and Scope
Following the escalation of violence in Rakhine State, Myanmar in 2017, more than half a million Rohingya refugees crossed the border and sought shelter in Teknaf and Ukhiya sub-districts of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Cox’s Bazar is ranked amongst the poorest districts of Bangladesh. Currently almost 1 million Rohingyas live in 33 congested camps in Cox’s Bazar. IOM has been providing critical assistance since 2017 to both Rohingyas and host communities.
Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCoM) and the direct supervision of the Head of Humanitarian Assistance and Operations, with guidance from the Deputy Chief of Mission in Cox’s Bazar, the Programme Manager will be responsible for the operational and budgetary management and technical supervision of the Shelter/Non-Food Item (NFI) programme of IOM in Bangladesh. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation and coordination of the frontline response, pipeline and Shelter/NFI programme management, reporting and monitoring of teams in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
