Project Context and Scope
The assignment focuses on improving the usability, navigation, content discovery, visual design, and search experience of an existing Drupal portal.
The UI/UX Designer is expected to understand the Drupal ecosystem and design interfaces that are practical to implement using Drupal content types, fields, taxonomies, menus, blocks, Views, Paragraphs, Layout Builder, and reusable components.
The scope includes designing and improving:
- Landing pages, listing pages, detail pages, search pages, and content-heavy templates.
- Reusable Drupal-friendly components such as cards, teasers, banners, filters, blocks, accordions, tabs, listings, and CTAs.
- Responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Accessible and SEO-friendly UI structures, including clear content hierarchy, crawlable navigation, optimized headings, and user-friendly layouts.
- Faceted full-text search experiences using technologies such as Apache Solr, Search API, SearchStax, or similar tools.
The User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer Consultant will work closely with Drupal developers, content editors, product owners, and relevant stakeholders to ensure that the proposed designs are feasible, user-centered, and aligned with technical requirements.
The User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer Consultant will work under the direction of Department of Humanitarian Response and Recovery (DHRR), mainly the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) unit.
