What's the opportunity?
The Data Foundations team owns a wide range of APIs and core services that support customer data management and integrations. We are responsible for the services which power user identity, segmentation, and data interactions across the platform. Our team also manages integrations with Salesforce, Stripe, Jira, GitHub, and many other apps, ensuring seamless data synchronization across external systems.
We work primarily with Ruby on Rails and Ember.js
What will I be doing?
- Design, develop and maintain APIs that handle user, company, and conversation data.
- Build and enhance integrations with apps like Salesforce, Stripe, Jira, GitHub.
- Maintain and enhance key developer-facing documentation (Dev Docs)
- Implement systems to monitor what we have build, to detect and surface both bottlenecks and problems with queues, workers and data quality issues.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Customer Support teams to ensure our data services meet business needs and provide a great developer experience.
What skills do I need?
- You have a few years of full-time, professional work experience using a modern programming language on a daily basis.
- You have experience handling queueing systems
- You have good experience with creating and consuming APIs, API documentation.
- You have some hands-on cloud provider experience (preferably AWS).
- You are aware of the importance of data security and privacy
- You can demonstrate impact that your work has had
- You care about your craft
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in backend development with Ruby on Rails or similar
- Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, and data integration best practices.
- Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
- Knowledge of frontend development with Ember.js is a plus.
- Ability to debug and optimize distributed systems and APIs.
- Familiarity with data privacy and compliance concerns related to customer data.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
