In the BioAI department, we advance the boundaries of healthcare and medical science through a combination of biology and artificial intelligence expertise. Notably, we are developing the next-generation vaccines and bio pharmaceuticals for cancer treatment and prevention and therapy of infectious diseases. By joining us, you will contribute to this effort in collaboration with scientists, engineers and biologists from both InstaDeep and BioNTech and have the opportunity to contribute to scientific papers submitted to leading conferences and journals.
In this position, you will be working closely with our team of machine learning engineers to help build the next generation of biomedical solutions. The output of this work will help medical practitioners and scientists advance our understanding of personalised treatments that improve clinical outcomes and profoundly impact peoples’ lives.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and deliver performant and scalable algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning methodologies using distributed computing systems on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
- Conduct rigorous data analysis and statistical modeling to explain and improve models.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and modular code with precise documentation.
Requirements
- On-going Master's degree or equivalent experience in applied mathematics, computer science, or related quantitatively focused scientific field.
- Software engineering skills (Python, Linux).
- Experience using a machine learning framework (PyTorch (ideally), JAX).
- Data science experience including data visualisations, clustering, statistical testing and regression/classification methods.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Work permit for the considered location.
Desirables
- Experience using Git and Docker.
- Experience with foundation ML model training.
- Knowledge about MLOps practices including DevOps & CI/CD.
- Experience bringing machine learning research to production.
